In short

This site is currently published as a reference library. Its enquiry routes — a published telephone number and an online enquiry form — are not open yet, and this page will carry them as soon as they are verified. In the meantime you can deal with your own insurer or the at-fault insurer directly, free of charge, and nothing on this site needs to sit between you and them.

Enquiry routes are not open yet

We would rather publish nothing than publish a number that is not answered or a form that goes nowhere. No telephone number, email address or enquiry form on this site is live at present, and no page here collects your personal details.

What that means for you. Nothing you read here is a substitute for talking to an insurer, and there is no enquiry you can start on this site today. Everything below is a route you can use now, free of charge, without any paid representative.

Routes you can use today, free of charge

Your own insurer. Your policy documents or insurance certificate carry the claims number. Your insurer can tell you what your policy covers, whether a courtesy car is included, and how a non-fault claim would be handled.

The at-fault driver's insurer. If you have the other driver's insurance details you can contact that insurer directly about a replacement vehicle and repairs. You do not need to pay anyone to make that call. Our page on credit hire compared with your own insurance explains the difference between the two routes.

If your vehicle is unsafe or you are stranded. Contact your insurer's emergency line or the recovery service named in your policy. In an emergency, contact the emergency services.

If you want to complain about a regulated firm. Complain to the firm first; if it does not resolve matters, the complaints page explains the ombudsman route.

What this site does and does not do

This site publishes general information about credit hire, a case law library and a rates methodology. It is not a law firm and not a claims management company, it is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and it does not assess, fund or run claims. It cannot tell you whether you qualify for anything, and nothing here is legal advice.

When enquiry routes do open, this site will refer enquiries to a commercial partner and will say so plainly on the page where the referral is offered. See regulatory status for how that relationship is described.
